Über das Event
Europe's affordable housing investment gap stands at €150bn a year. Germany alone is short 550,000 homes. Public capital cannot close it but private capital won't move without credible evidence of social value.
SI4 (Social Infrastructure Impact Investment Index) is the first index measuring the social impact of investments in social infrastructure and its causal effect on financial performance. Developed under Horizon Europe with actuarial firm Milliman and AI foundation IFAB, and piloted on 80 Copenhagen housing projects with data from Landsbyggefonden, SI4 produces a rigorous, auditable score that goes beyond ESG: it turns social impact into a financial variable usable for allocation decisions, CSRD/SFDR reporting, and investment-grade underwriting.
A credible measurement standard also unlocks a new generation of blended financial instruments, bonds and funds that attract long-term institutional capital precisely because social purpose is validated, monitored, and protected.
The initiators and project partners will then address the question that matters for the German market and for European housing investment at scale: what does a shared measurement standard actually deliver?
The answer: greater transparency, better allocation decisions, and an investment case built on evidence rather than assumption. The session is designed for developers, asset managers, and housing institutions who need to demonstrate impact and turn it into a competitive advantage.
