Über Hendrikus (Erik) van Herwijnen

Hendrikus W. G. (“Erik”) van Herwijnen received a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from the University of Vienna. In 2002 he started working for an international adhesive producer, since 2006 as research manager. In this function, he developed commercially implemented systems described in several patents. After 10 years in industry, he changed 2012 to the non-profit research company Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH (Wood K plus). Beside his function as deputy area manager, he heads the team “Advanced bonding” with a large research focus on adhesive-wood interactions and the development of formaldehyde free resins. The work is organised in several projects in close cooperation with industry and the BOKU university of natural resources and life science.
