Tech for Impact: Sustainable building materials

Building material innovation & embodied carbon: Less impact with new bio technology?
Emissions arising from the manufacturing and processing of building materials have been neglected for a long time. The real asset industry has been slow to adopt whole building carbon measuring methods like the Life Cycle Assessment based on Environmental Product Declarations.
Together we are analysing the net Global Warming Potential of building materials, the potential for carbon removal as well as costs and feasibility for new construction materials. Can we advance into a circular built environment?
- Can new (biobased) products serve as low-cost solutions for reducing embodied carbon in buildings?
- What are the leading building material firms working on?
- Can new tech companies stir up the material market?
