Our founding team has taken an in-depth look at materials procurement in construction companies. Our connection to the industry is caused by our family related background in the construction industry. Very early we noticed that procurement and especially the relationship between construction companies and suppliers is inefficient due to many reasons. But since the processes inside procurement are that complex and obscure, we spent over a year researching which sub-processes have the greatest potential for optimization. With CATHAGO we wanted to take this challenge by finding out where we could offer construction companies the greatest added value. In particular, we looked at the processes around tendering and obtaining material offers as well as supply logistics to the construction site, including digital delivery note. Although such processes are not yet fully digitized and have a lot of potential, we have also identified the difficulties and blockages in implementing digital solutions in those processes. Instead, we took a deeper look into framework contracts and how to manage them. By digitizing the framework contracts, we not only give construction companies the possibility to renegotiate their framework agreements based on data, but also give construction managers and foremen the possibility to call-off materials efficiently with an e-commerce experience directly from the construction site. We made this challenge to our mission - to change the way of cooperation collaboration between the procurement department, the construction site and the supplier; all connected on one platform.
